Creating Wealth is MORE than just Money.

Creating Wealth is about CREATING it.
All around you.
All the time.

Wealth is more than money, it is about the things which fulfill you at a deep level. It could be friends, relationships, hobbies, art, work, or helping people. It is about drawing out the best gifts of those around you, to make this world a better place. And yes, sometimes those gifts also include MONEY. Because, let's face it, in general, when we don't have to worry about money, we are less stressed.

So.
Here we go.

My contribution.

I will. For 48 hours, give away my most popular book (in e-format), FREE.

How to Create Wealth

FREE

for 48 hours.

From 12am (PST) on March 22nd
(the New Moon),

until 11:59pm (PST) on March 24th
,

you can receive "How to Create Wealth" as an E-Book from Amazon for FREE.

My gift to you. To help get your finances in order (and hopefully relieve some unneeded stress).

The Details:

Where: How to Create Wealth on Amazon

Why: To cultivate and create wealth for everyone.

After these two days, this book will not be offered for free again. It will return to its regular price of $2.99 for an e-book. ALSO -> This promotion is for the e-book ONLY, the paperback price will not change and will still be offered at $9.95

What:

Summery: Ms. Jones humorously talks about finances and budgets like she talks about diets. Almost everyone needs to work on both, but prefers to avoid the topic if at all possible. This book is chock full of easy to read information, worksheets and baby steps for those who think budgets are too hard to follow. She emphasizes a spending plan, eliminating debt and her secret way to get almost $5k of free money and have close to $20k in your pocket in 10 years. This is a must-read book for anyone who’s looking for a little basic financial information and a whole lot of courage. The book is condensed, the points are concise and the reading is FUN. Highly recommend for anyone thinking (and/or stressing) about their money.

Taking a bit of a breath...

My Mac crashed.
Died.
and got infected with a zombie virus. Which means, it's alive again, but .... scarily.

I lost about 15 pages of an upcoming novel, and I was pretty heart broken. So, I need to take a bit of a breather, and get caught up again.

In the meantime, feel free to backtrack to any posts for your needed Stress Relief or Mad Money advice and my books are always available for you.

Why choose me for an online Money Mentorship?

Despite the tremendous importance of money and finance in all aspects of our lives, very few people seek out any kind of formal guidance in how to deal with either. For most of us, it is simply a case of learning our lessons by watching how those around us deal with financial matters and then muddling through accordingly. Although help is available through formal training for anyone who wishes to improve their sense of financial awareness in the home or business setting, such courses are typically only able to provide generic information which students then have to interpret to fit their own sets of circumstances.

Anyone can receive personalized guidance which is tailor-made to address their own unique situations and needs and geared towards helping them meet their own specific financial aims or those of the business they own or work for.

The ability to understand finance and to be able to budget is vital if families are going to be able to deal with their financial commitments and to prepare for future events such as their children’s educations and weddings or to realize their own personal ambitions such as setting up a small home business. With so much uncertainty in the job market, making sure that they have sufficient assets put away to protect them should the specter of unemployment make its presence felt or just having enough put by to deal with the unexpected can mean that families can live contentedly and without endless stress and worry.

When we work together in a Money Mentorship, one of the enormous benefits that you receive is that the help and guidance is related specifically to your own unique situation. It is provided to you taking into account your own incomings and outgoings, lifestyle, emotional needs and what you hope to achieve at the end of the day.

It's the symptom, not the problem.

Welcome to Money Monday, and our frank discussion today about Debt.

First, let's be clear. Debt is the symptom, not the problem. Debt is the tummy-ache caused by too much candy and the only way to cure the tummy-ache is not by eating a handful of Tums, but to immediately stop eating candy!
(Even though you have a sweet tooth and it tastes sooo good)

It is simple really. Money problems result from a combination of excessive spending or insufficient income. AND, excessive spending and insufficient income are caused by life habits. That is why debt and credit problems are so difficult to resolve for most people. It is a personal life problem masquerading as a financial problem. You look for financial solutions but they don’t exist because you’re looking in the wrong place.

Everybody knows the cure for debt and credit problems is to make more money or reduce spending. That is the basic premise for budgeting, Duhh! So what? Getting it done is the surprisingly difficult part because the solution looks financial but is actually personal. Of course it is! (This is why you buy that latte every morning instead of saving that $4, Because, you are a complex human being and the latte makes you FEEL good).

You are an emotionally based person with wants and desires which are reflected in a rational currency based economy. The only way to stop the 'tummy-ache' is to address the emotional issues which started it in the first place. That doesn't mean you have to deny your desires for that snickers bar every once in a while, but BALANCE is the key!

So commit to your growth and freedom! Make this year the year you finally break the bonds of consumerism and debt slavery. Make this year the greatest year of personal growth and freedom you have ever had. And, if you need help, I'm just a click away.

Too-Big-to-Fail? I don't think so.

In honor of Money Monday and the first Monday of 2012, I dedicate this post to Big Banks, and the notice that average Americans are sending you.
You are not too big to fail.

If you haven't already, now is the time to move your money out of big banks.
Consider it the healthiest New Years Resolution you can keep.

Arianna Huffington recently wrote a great piece on moving your money out of big banks, and supports the Move Your Money project.

In a time when corporations are people, and our elected officials seem to have more concern for the bottom line of business than the health and well-being of the populous, your dollars now become your voice.
... and collectively, our voice is powerful.

*Netflix lost 800,000 customers in the 3rd quarter alone after it announced a 60% price hike.

*Verizon scrapped their '$2 convenience fee' due to customer backlash.

*In the 3rd Quarter alone, more than 650,000 people moved their money to credit unions. (See articles here, here and here for more info).
(To find a Credit Union, or research your options, click here and go to the National Credit Union Administration)

If you don't think you matter, you are wrong. Your money matters. If you want to see a more sustainable, locally driven economy in your community, then support the local businesses with your dollars.

"Be the change you want to see in the world."

The end of Gluttony

It's Money Monday, and also the day after Christmas.
The day after a gluttonous day of spending. Spending on presents, spending time with family and friends and spending many hours lifting a fork into your mouth eating delicious food (which you probably wouldn't normally eat the rest of the year - like cookies. I love cookies).

It seems as though the holidays have become an excuse for gluttony. Although, my hope and wish for you is that you planned, did a budget, stuck to your diet, and spent the proper amount of time with your friends and family.
BUT--->>
If you didn't do things how you wanted, you can always start NOW!
Don't wait until New Years, get a head start on the wagon today!

If you blew your budget for Christmas, (or maybe didn't even set one, but now are looking at January 1 with horror and dread) I recommend this:

It's hard to build a mountain when you keep digging holes.

Today, for Money Monday, I dedicate this post to credit cards.
Credit Cards.
Oh how I loathe thee.

I am putting the average American Credit Card user on notice - >
If you have to put something on a credit card - you can’t afford it. When it comes down to it, if you’re putting the new stove or sofa on a credit card (or even worse, a store credit card) then you really shouldn’t be buying that item at all. Remember, back in the day people used to do this crazy thing called “saving.” Today, we’re all about instant gratification. Buy now, pay later. And by the time we’re finished paying something off, it’s time to get a new one. The cycle never ends.

There is no need for you to be spending beyond your means anymore and digging a bigger hole. You want to build mountains of wealth!

PAY OFF YOUR CREDIT CARDS!
You can do it!

Use the chart:

Rank your cards to which one you are going to pay off first, then PAY IT OFF!

Don't be a slave to the banks any more!

For more information on how to get out of debt and free yourself, buy my book on How to Create Wealth (Available in paperback through my store and on Amazon).

And start making mountains out of mole-hills.

Money Monday Makes Merry Mortals.

It seems as though lately, money makes everyone happy. A little more money just makes things a little bit easier, smoother, nicer and more beautiful.

As idealistic as I might be about the fact that 'The Universe will provide' or 'There is always enough', the cold hard facts remain.
Money is a form of barter/exchange that EVERYONE agrees upon.
You need money.

So, in honor of Manic Monday, here are a few 'Money Monday Madness' tips for you.

*Budges are a lot like diets, everyone needs to do it, but no one wants to talk about it.

*A budget will determine whether you have money at the end of the month, or month at the end of the money.

*It doesn't matter if you budget $10 or $10,000,000 the only difference in a budget is where the decimal point lands. (Even Oprah famously stated that she signs every single check she writes.)

I was an Economist.

After 14 years in finance, I left the industry. To the shock and horror of many of my friends and family. I mean, I was making great money, had health insurance, retirement, etc, etc, etc.
But something changed.
Something which is outlined very clearly in this video.
WATCH IT!

Like many others, I have found the intensity of my happiness is tied to my desire for Autonomy, Mastery and Purpose. A desire that in one small way, my life MEANS something. The work that I do CHANGES things for the better.

The point is, there is no amount of money that would bribe a craftsman to turn his or her back on their own desire to grow. Growth is the natural order of things. Working on yourself, doing things that you decide to do, when you decide to do them will not only make you better, but will also feed passion into your life. More passion means more happiness. More happiness equals a better world.

We all have this intrinsic 3rd grade desire to 'Show and Tell'. Show and tell things that we did, accomplishments that we made, sharing our steps of personal fulfillment and purpose. And yet we are all so worried about jobs and money and silly details that we miss the big picture. The picture of growth, of having fun, of letting go and being free to do and create those things in which truly 'disrupts' the status quo and makes you intrinsically happy.

So, perhaps, just for today:
Start thinking outside the box.
Don't worry so much about money.
Make something awesome that will change the world.
Then give it away for free.

An intense model of 'Pay it Forward' perhaps. There are more than enough people in the world, that if we lived our lives in this idea of paying it forward, noone would be without food, shelter, clothing, transportation or... or... the most important TIME for PERSONAL GROWTH!

So, in the vein of this new business model. I will not worry about book sales, marketing, writing (unless I enjoy it) and give away a Free SIGNED Copy of any one of my books to any one person who wants one, for the next 24 hours. All you have to do is comment on this blog. A thought, idea, reaction or just a statement telling me I am a left-wing socialist nut job. Whatever it is.

One comment.
One book.
Free.

and... Pay it Forward.
